At MVILLAP, we believe that learning never ends. We want to share ideas, experiences and practical resources that can help you explore new career paths and opportunities for professional development.
Hello, I’m Maria Elena Villapol
I am a very proud Venezuelan who lives in beautiful New Zealand.
I have been teaching at university level for many years, mainly at my beloved Universidad Central de Venezuela. During my long academic career, I have had the opportunity to teach many students who, I hope, have learned as much from me as I have learned from them.
When I was a little girl, I used to write short stories and even poems. Later, as a university researcher, I became a technical writer. You can find some of my technical articles in major online repositories, such as Google Scholar. I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to write them with some of my wonderful colleagues.
From guiding others to navigating my own journey
During my academic career, I had the opportunity to coach many of my students and guide them as they began their journeys into industry.
Later, I needed to navigate my own career change and professional development as an immigrant in New Zealand.
Through MVILLAP, I want to channel my experience in education across different countries and my own professional journey to help others navigate their careers, explore new possibilities and, when needed, change their career path.
